Overview

A new digital identity for Art Tattoo Alien Prague — a legendary studio operating in the heart of Prague since 1993. The site puts the artists, their work and the studio attitude front-and-centre, with a multilingual experience and a frictionless booking flow.

The challenge

A 30-year legacy that had to feel current — without losing its edge.

The studio has been shaping the Czech tattoo scene since 1993, but the old site buried the artists behind generic galleries and gave visitors no clear way to book. The brief was a bold, typographically-driven experience that respects the brand attitude, surfaces each artist as a personality, and makes enquiries effortless from any language.

My approach

Typography as identity, artists as the front page.

I built a content-driven site on Next.js with a heavy, custom display type system and a warm cream-and-ink palette that channels the studio in person. Artists live as first-class entries with their own portfolios; the “how it works” flow walks newcomers through consultation, deposit and session; and the entire site ships in CZ/EN/DE with locale-aware routing, optimised images and prefetched navigation.

Results

Bookings up, bounce down, the brand back in the spotlight.

The new site loads instantly on a phone, passes Core Web Vitals across every page and turns the artist roster into the main entry point. International visitors finally get a fully localised journey, and the booking enquiries land directly in the studio inbox — no third-party widget in the way.
